Your Support Means the World to Us–and Our Seniors
Our loved ones are special, and sometimes they need extra support. Families deserve peace of mind, knowing that their mother, father, grandparent, or other special person is safe, comfortable, and well cared for. Foyer Richelieu is a long-term care residence that provides a safe haven of support, dignity, and care for those we cherish.
But what happens when there’s no more room?
- The Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care declared a state of emergency for Welland due to a shortage of long-term care beds.
- Within 5 years, 48,000 seniors in Niagara will be waiting for a long-term care opening.
- In the next 30 years, 1.1 million Canadians will face the devastating consequences of dementia – and we need to act now.
Helping Our Seniors. Together.
How will we meet the needs of our seniors? We grow.
By participating in an event or making a financial contribution, you are helping to embark on an ambitious expansion project to create a senior care complex. Our vision encompasses two phases of creating new beds. The first phase of the vision includes building a new long-term care home on our land. It will house 128 beds, an increase from 65. Once the new building is constructed, residents can move into their new long-term care home. There will also be 10 hospice beds funded and operated by Hospice Niagara and a Cultural Center funded by Heritage Canada. The second phase is characterized by modernizing existing facilities to create the Maison Richelieu, with 50 housing units with support services.
